Simple but beautiful
Choosing the option of having simple decoration for our celebration does not imply that the environment should look boring.
When looking for inspiration for your celebration’s decoration, you will come across a broad range of images that may lead you to believe that in order to have a beautiful decoration, you must have an extravagant budget, because otherwise, the setting would appear boring and empty. However, if you do not have a large decoration budget, do not panic because we will provide information that may be valuable to you in the lines that follow.
We mentioned in one of our previous installments that it is important that the style chosen for the decoration of your celebration is harmonious with the space in which the celebration will take place, as this will help to require a lower investment to set the place, as opposed to a place that needs to be transformed. However, this is not the only element to consider if you want to provide your guests with a pleasant, delicate, and lovely ambiance, despite its simplicity.
Below we share some details to consider for the assembly of your table, when you decide to have a simple decoration for your celebration.
- Combination of colors and suitable decorative elements. This is one of the most important points, I would say the main one, to ensure that the general image of your event projects harmony, giving a good impression at first sight.
Soft and neutral colors as a base, complemented by a metallic color (gold, silver, bronze) or wood, are usually a foolproof option. Also, for the purpose of this article, we recommend limiting your color palette to no more than three (3) colors, including all of them.
If you prefer dark colors, an infallible option is to use black as a base, and combine it with complementary pieces, strategically selected, in colors like white, silver, or gold. These colors will help make your celebration look elegant without adding too much to your budget.
On the other hand, there are various options for decorative elements that, properly placed, can give a unique look to your table, without incurring an exaggerated investment.
The use of candles in any of their different styles, vases with simple arrangements or centerpieces based on the foliage of your choice, glass candle holders in different heights and models, will always bring elegance and style to your table. It is only necessary to combine them properly.
- Stationery. We consider it an essential part of the table setup, since in addition to informing and organizing the guests, it highlights the care and attention to detail that the couple has put into making them feel welcome. Among the stationery details that can be placed on the table, we can mention place cards, thank you cards, menu, drink menu, and table numbers.
Placing the menu or a thank you card next to each guest’s napkin is a great addition that will denote a great change in the setting of your table. However, for this change to be positive, it is important that the design is consistent with the style of the table and that both the printing and the material used for it are of excellent quality.
Despite the fact that in this installment we have focused on the table setup, we cannot fail to mention the welcome sign and the seating chart, which play a very important role in the experience of our guests, and for the that can be used very creative designs that reflect the love story of the couple.
- Attention to details. The delicacy and attention to detail must prevail when working on the assembly of the tables that we will arrange to accommodate our guests, considering that everyone will have direct access to look, touch and smell everything that is placed on the table, and we must ensure that their sensory experience during the celebration is the best.
All the components of the table must be placed correctly and delicately, making sure that each element is well polished and in excellent condition. Creative details can be incorporated to capture the attention of our guests, but above all they should go within the style chosen for the decoration. In addition, for the placement of the stationery, we must consider the intensity of the wind if the celebration will be taking place in an outdoor location.
A simple decoration can be ideal for pre-wedding events, in order to conserve an even greater part of our budget for the big day, or it can be an excellent option for couples who do not have a very high budget for the celebration of their wedding.
